This standard is issued under the fixed designation D3039/D3039M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. FRP (فیبرهای پلیمری تقویت شده) نوعی ماده کامپوزیت متشکل از دو بخش فیبر یا الیاف تقویتی است که به وسیله یک ماتریس رزین از جنس پلیمر احاطه شده است. فیبرهای FRP به روش پلی اکریلونیتریل(PAN) ساخته می شوند و میلگردها و پروفیل ها به روش پالتروژن (Pultrusion) تولید می گردند که در این روش دسته های الیاف پس از آغشته شدن با رزین پس از عبور از یک قالب در کنار هم قرار گرفته و یک پروفیل دارای مقطع ثابت را به وجود می آورند. محصولات پلیمری مورد استفاده در سازه ها به شکل ورق های FRP ، میلگردهای FRP ، مش های FRP و پروفیل های FRP وجود دارد. از این محصولات برای ساخت و تقویت سازه ها استفاده می شود.

در کاربردهای مهندسی ، اغلب به تلفیق خواص مورد نیاز است . به عنوان مثال در صنایع هوافضا ، کاربردهای زیر آبی ، حمل و نقل و امثال آنها ، امکان استفاده از یک نوع ماده که همه خواص مورد نظر را فراهم آورد وجود ندارد .به عنوتن مثال در صنایع هوا فضا به موادی نیاز است که ضمن داشتن استحکام بالا سبک باشند ، مقاومت سایشی و UV خوبی داشته باشند و ... از آنجا که نمی توان ماده ای را یافت که همه خواص مورد نظر را دارا باشد ، باید دنبال چاره دیگری بود .کلید این مشکل استفاده از کامپوزیت هاست.

This book is intended primarily to arouse the interests of graduate engineers, assistant engineers and engineers in the technical aspect of civil engineering works. The content of the book mainly focuses on providing the reasons of adoption of the various current practices of civil engineering. By understanding the underlying principles of engineering practices, graduate engineers/assistant engineers/engineers may develop an interest in civil engineering works. It is also intended that the book will serve as a useful source of reference for practicing engineers. Some of these questions are selected from the book and published in the column “The Civil FAQ” in the monthly journal The Hong Kong Engineer under the Hong Kong Institution of Engineer. Other than this book, I have written another book called “Civil Engineering Practical Notes A-Z” which contains similar format and targets to provide quick and concise answers to frequently asked questions raised by engineers during their day-to-day work.
